NTA JEE Mains 2019 - Changes, Registration, Syllabus, Eligibility (Phase 1&2)

JEE Mains 2019 entrance exam is going to be conducted twice in January 2019 and April 2019 by National Testing Agency (NTA). The official exam dates announcement are to be made yet by the NTA examination body. The result of NTA JEE Main Entrance Exams will be declared probably on 1st Week of February 2019 and 1st Week of May 2019.

NTA JEE Main 2019 - Changes and Latest News Updates

What is NTA? - NTA stands for National Testing Agency. It is an autonomous testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions across India and which is approved and created by Union Cabinet chaired by PMO.

Constitution of the NTA - NTA will be chaired by an educationist appointed by MHRD. It is headed by CEO who will be the Director General to be appointed by the Government. The establishment of NTA will benefit around 40 lakh students appearing in various entrance examinations every year.

- Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards.

- It is announced that the NTA will conduct its 1st Phase of JEE Main Exam in the month of January 2019. Check JEE Main Phase-1 / Phase-2 Schedule here.

- Exams that comes under the purview of NTA are JEE Main, NEET, UGC-NET, GPAT and CMAT.

- JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th Class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th Class examination.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Age Limit, Attempt Limit and Age Eligibility

JEE Main 2019 Upper and Lower Age Limits - The applicant should have been born on or after October 1, 1994. SC/ ST/ PwD candidates have 5 years of age relaxation in upper age limit .i.e the date of birth should be on or after October 1, 1989.

JEE Main 2019 Attempt Limit - A student can attempt for maximum three times for the JEE Mains entrance exam. There is no further relaxation for SC/ ST/ PwD. Candidates can appear for maximum two consecutive years for JEE Advanced Exam.

JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria

- Those candidates are eligible to apply for JEE Mains who passed 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2017 and 2018 or appearing in the 12th board exam in 2019. Candidates who passed 10+2 exam in 2016 are not eligible to apply.

- Diploma holders can only apply for admission in IITs and also have to appear for JEE Advanced exam.

- To apply for JEE Mains, no minimum marks required.

- For admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, candidates have to secure 75% (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12th board exams or be in top 20 percentile of the respective board.

- Must have 5 subjects in 12th board exam .i.e. Language, Mathematics, Physics, any one from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject and one other subject.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Registration and Application Form

NTA will release JEE Main 2019 online application form which will be available for Phase-1 January Exam Registration on September 1, 2018. Online submission of JEE Main 2019 Phase-2 application forms would start from 2nd week of February 2019.

JEE Main 2019 aspirants can fill and sumbit JEE Main Application Forms through online mode only.
